Jobless Claims Drop

From the DOL:

In the week ending Oct. 10, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 514,000, a decrease of 10,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 524,000. The 4-week moving average was 531,500, a decrease of 9,000 from the previous week's revised average of 540,500.

This was one of the first economic numbers that caught my attention regarding the idea of recovery. Notice that the 4-week moving average has been dropping since late March/early April.

This is more good news for the economy. It indicates the recovery is underway.
